Lake Stone ( 801 W. Highway 4, Century ) is a 130 acre artificial inpoundment created by an earthen dam across Wiggins
Branch. It is located in northern Escambia county in the Blackwater State Forest. The lake entrance is on S.R. 4, 1.5 miles
west of Hwy 29 in Century. The lake was constructed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in 1967 and
opened to fishing in 1969. It was later renovated, restocked and reopened to fishing in 1972.
It has an average depth of 6 feet and a maximum depth of 22 feet. Deepest areas are near the dam and along the old stream
bed. A considerable amount of flooded timber remains, providing fish habitat.

Boat Ramps: A concrete boat ramp is located in the main recreational area on the northwest side of the lake.
One unimproved gravel boat ramp is located on the northeast end of the lake. (See below for more

REGULATIONS:
- Florida fishing license required
- Electric motors only. Gasoline powered outboard motors are prohibited.
- No motor vehicles on the dam, spillways, or fishing fingers.
Lake Stone Campground Rules and Regulations:
- Camping is allowed in designated camping sites only. Site selection is first come, first served. Reservations may be made for
camping but not for specific campsites, up to 45 days in advance only with advanced payment Length of stay is 14 days at
prime sites (18-29) and 30 days at non-prime sites (1-17; 30-77). If campground is not full, a camper may renew his
reservation at a non-prime site with permission from campground manager and/or Parks & Recreation Chief of Recreation.
Renewal can be made no earlier than the last day of the current reservation.
- No more than eight (8) registered campers per campsite. Additional campsites must be rented to accommodate larger groups
of over 8 persons. Every effort will be made to place large groups adjacent to each other, but is not guaranteed. Groups over
eight wanting to camp on the same site must pay full camp rate for each 8 campers. (If 10 campers use the same site, the fee
would equal two campsites or $20 ($12 for seniors))
- Gathering of firewood is limited to wood found on the ground only. Campers are encouraged to bring their own firewood.
- The period between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. is designated as quiet time. All activities during this time shall be carried out
with respect to others right to rest. Campers making too much noise during this time will be asked to leave the premises.
- Pets are allowed but must remain under owners control and on a leash at all times. Violators will be asked to leave the
campground or remove the animals from the camping area.
- Showers are for registered campers only.
- Sanitary dump is free to campers. Other users subject to $2.00 plus tax charge.
- Boats must be launched from designated launching areas only.
- Fires must be within existing fire ring only.
- Alcoholic beverages prohibited.
- Pavilion may be reserved up to one year in advance. A deposit of $50.00 must be received to hold the reservation. The cost
of the pavilion rental is $20 per use up to a full day. If a group or club is renting 10 or more campsites, the rate will be $10 per
use up to a full day.
- Check out time is 1:00 p.m.
- Gate is locked at 10:00 p.m. Day users shall exit at 10:00 p.m.

Daily entrance fees $1.00 (tax included) per person. Up to six (6) visitors per registered campsite may enter at no charge.
Participants at a registered function at the pavilion may enter at no charge.

- Pavilion Rental: $50 refundable cleaning deposit at the time of the reservation and/or use. (Pavilion must be made ready
for the next user in order to be refunded).
$20 plus tax, per use, up to a full day
$10 plus tax, per use, up to a full day if users are renting 10 or more campsites during use.
