GENERAL INFORMATION
Eglin Air Force Base comprises 463,128 acres of the panhandle of Florida, or a little over 2/3 the size of the state of Rhode Island.
There are several active military bases on this acreage - Eglin AFB main, Hurlburt Field, Duke Field, Camp Rudder and the several
bombing and test ranges. These active military portions are restricted from general public use. However, much of the land on Eglin is
etc.
Public use of the Eglin AFB natural resources is controlled
by the Natural Resource Office of Eglin AFB, better known
as JACKSON GUARD. They are located "off-base" in
Niceville, next to the Eglin Golf Course.
